You’re in the woods. The sun is beginning to set, the air is becoming chillier, and the odds of finding the right path seem not in your favor. You’re completely lost, one wrong turn and you’ve ended up seemingly in the middle of nowhere. You didn’t have enough room in your pack to lug a compass, fire starter, or the tools necessary for overnight survival. For a fleeting moment, you feel panic start to kick in and your heart race.
Alas, not all hope is lost. You remembered the one tool handy enough to fit in the palm of your hand that has everything you need: The Tactical Credit Card Tool. This tiny multi tool is slim enough to fit into a credit card slot on a wallet yet can help in dire situations, such as the one described above. Hopefully you never find yourself in this predicament, but if you were to, the Tactical Credit Card Tool would certainly help.
The Tactical Credit Card Tool is a compact multi-piece tool designed to equip outdoorsmen/women with tools they may need in a variety of situations. Whether you lose a shoelace or need to start a quick fire, there is a tool for most outdoor dilemmas. The tools are also small enough to fit in one slim device. It won’t weigh down your pack and will give you peace of mind.
The Tactical Credit Card Tool includes:
Knife
By simply applying pressure between your thumb and pointer finger, you can gently pull a small knife out from the tool. This knife is sharp, and doubles as a bolt tightener as well. I tested the knife on a thin piece of rope and it cut through with ease.
Blade Sharpener
Located on the side of the tool, you’ll find a blade sharpener. This will be helpful for keeping the knife from becoming dull. It functioned properly when I tested it, although my knife was pretty sharp to start.
Compass
A small compass is included near the top of the tool. This was helpful when trying to find my way north on a recent trail. It functioned properly and was useful.
Magnifying Glass
Whether you need to read fine print on a map or a sign on a trail, the magnifying glass is helpful in enlarging. A bigger magnifying glass would be better, but does its job for what it’s worth.
Bottle Opener
For those times when you just need a beer at the summit. Or maybe a bottle of sparkling water. It also works as a screw tool which is handy if you needed to tighten a screw on a piece of equipment.
Tweezers
Functional enough to pull out a pesky splinter. Could see these possibly breaking and metal tweezers would be easier for extracting things, albeit bulkier to carry.
Toothpick
Probably the least necessary tool but still might be nice to have nonetheless. You never know when you might get a piece of jerky stuck in your teeth.
Fire Starter
A miniature, magnesium fire starter is the last main pull-apart piece on the tool. I can’t speak to how well it works because I didn’t start a fire with it, but looks more promising than anything else you’d probably have on you otherwise.
Extras
Paracord
Could be used to hold the whistle, another extra. Could also possibly be used to help tie something or as a shoelace.
Whistle
One of the most useful tools in the pack and one you’d probably forget to bring yourself. This could be used to scare off animals, or help give away your location to a rescue team.
Overall Analysis
For its modest price, $14.99 at the time of this post, it wouldn’t hurt to have the Tactical Credit Card Tool. There are plenty of tools included that would be useful in saving your life in the worst-case scenario. Additionally, the tools seemed to be pretty sturdily constructed. I tested taking the tools out several times to see if they would easily slide back in place and they did. I also tried dropping the tool onto a hard surface. Nothing broke, and all the pieces stayed intact.
